Volunteering with Craig Street Cats

Volunteers are the people who keep Craig Street Cats going.   They come play with the cats, help with fundraising, gather donated items, and do all the little things that make it possible to continue.  Right now we have some of the most dedicated volunteers in this city.

We need more like them.

If you can spare a few hours, please consider coming out and helping where you can.  We need volunteers in the following areas:

Fundraising:

  • working at our rummage sale in May
  • working at our fundraising and information tables at various venues
  • delivering and picking up donation cans and boxes
  • counting and rolling coins
  • picking up donated items
  • planning fundraising events

Working with the cats:

  • feeding
  • cleaning cat areas and litter boxes
  • playing with cats and kittens
  • checking traps and feeding stations

Making stuff  to sell at fundraisers (patterns and recipes available):

  • making cat treats
  • making catnip toys
  • sewing cat beds

Fostering:

Foster homes for cats and kittens are always needed.  We usually have kittens needing fostering from March or April through to November or December.  Foster homes for friendly adult cats are needed year round.  Some of the adults need long term fostering, as they are unlikely to be adopted.

Skilled Volunteers:

Volunteers with skills in the following areas are desperately needed:

  • bookkeeping / accounting
  • volunteer coordinator
  • secretary / admin assistant

Please call 223-6652 or email cats@wolseleygirl.com for more information.
