2 weeks til our giant rummage and bake sale at R.A. Steen C.C. Wow! The time is sure flying by quickly. May 9 will be here before we know it!
It’s getting exciting. Our silent auction baskets are looking awesome. There are some really amazing things going into them — everything from pet care to tanning to flowers to books to — well, you’ll just have to come on out and see.
We have a lot of really great stuff for the rummage sale, as well. Sporting goods, home decor, holiday items, books, toys, games, puzzles . . . .
As for the bake sale, well, I won’t say a word, for it would just set your mouth to watering in anticipation
We do still need more items for the rummage sale, bake sale, and silent auction. If you have items to donate, please call 223-6652, or email cats@wolseleygirl.com
More volunteers for the event would be appreciated, too. Call or email if you can help out.
No, I’m not delusional. This past Friday, I spent an incredible evening with Elvis. Or, at least, the closest approximation this side of eternity.
As the guest of Friends Fundraising for Animal Shelters, I was handed a generous donation toward Craig Street Cats’ vet and operating expenses, and then treated to a delightful Elvis Presley tribute show put on by Daylin James, also known as “The Comeback King“. Of course, the highlight of my evening was when “Elvis’ kissed me. Or was it when he held my hand, gazed deeply into my eyes, and serenaded me? Hmmm. I’ll have to ponder that one for a bit.
At any rate, I had a wonderful time. Thank you to Friends Fundraising for Animal Shelters, for their generosity, and the great show.
Well, this morning I was interviewed by Terry MacLeod and Marcy Markusa of CBC’s Information Radio. I think it went very well. I hope I sounded intelligent, and (please God) coherent at 7:50am. Unfortunately, I may never know, because I wasn’t able to get a copy from CBC. Let me rephrase that. I can get a copy of the show, but I’d have to pay $40, plus taxes, plus copyright fees. Won’t be happening.
Anyway, the interview was over before I knew it. I didn’t get a chance to say half of the things I wanted to say. The producer I spoke with mentioned that they would have to have me back and that I should email Terry if there are any developments in my story. Hmmm. That might be interesting. Hmmm. I’ll have to cogitate on that a bit.
I did, of course, leave an information package with Terry and Marcy. With luck they’ll find something newsworthy in it
