another 15 minutes. . .

Sunday, November 16th, 2008

Well, it seems that Craig Street Cats is up for another 15 minutes of fame. I had a booth at the Linwood School craft show on the 8th, and Terry Stapleton from CBC news just happened to attend the show. He and a camera man came over on Friday to interview me and shoot some footage of the cats and the shelters that have been donated. The piece will probably run on Wednesday Nov. 19, during the 6 o’clock news.

first winter shelter

first winter shelter

The snow has arrived, so our first winter shelter has been placed. Thanks to Sandra and her husband, 2 r10 styrofoam shelters have been donated, and the first one is already out and being used. With luck the cats will come to prefer the shelter to the “hotel” they’ve been using til now.

Today another shelter was donated by Barbara and Archie. They dropped off a wonderful wooden shelter that can be left out all year round. It needs a coat of exterior latex paint, and then it will be out for the cats to use, as well.

Angels

Sunday, November 2nd, 2008

We seem to have acquired some guardian angels. The past few weeks have brought many wonderful surprises, and Craig Street Cats has been the beneficiary of incredible acts of generosity. One winter shelter has been dropped off, and promises of 3 others have been received. Litterally hundreds of pounds of cat food, dog food, cat litter, treats, toys, and assorted goodies have been left, anonymously, on my front porch. Friends Fundraising for Animal Shelters have contacted me about helping out where they can. Angels abound.

I cannot express how very grateful I am for all of these blessings. Without the amazing kindness of the angels who do such wonderful things, I would not be able to continue working with the cats. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart.
