Success and generosity

Wednesday, October 22nd, 2008

The Headingly Craft show was a great success. We sold quite a few kitten cards, took in some donations, and had a few people volunteer to help out when they can. All told, a huge success.

I was basking in the warm feeling you get when something works out well, when I got an email from Donna asking if I stll needed towels and blanket for the cats. I called her back to let her know that we always need more of that sort of thing. Yesterday Donna arrived with a load of blankets and towels, as well as food, treats and toys for the cats. I am constantly amazed at the generosity of complete strangers who show up with cars full of things to give to the cats, or email offering to build shelters to keep the cats warm during the winter, or send money they have collected at work.

Thank you to all of you. You are making a difference.

Kitten Cards are travelling to Headingly

Thursday, October 16th, 2008

October 17th and 18th I’ll be manning a booth at the Headingly Christmas Craft show, at 5353 Portage Ave. Of course the kitten cards will be there, as well as all the “stuff” I had at Pawsitively Wild — hand outs, photos, information about the cats . . .

With luck we’ll raise enough to keep the cats and kittens fed and housed for a while. Drop in and say hi if you’re out that way.

Our Pet, Juliet

Saturday, October 11th, 2008

This beautiful lady is Juliet. She is the sweetest mommy-cat you’d ever want to meet. Juliet and her babies spent the summer over on Lenore, being cared for by a great group of neighbours. Since Juliet has obviously been someone’s pet, she won’t be going back to the street . She’ll be put up for adoption as soon as she’s fully recovered from her surgery and gotten used to being a pampered lady. For the time being, Juliet and her babies are living in my bathroom.

These 2 are happy to cuddle up in a basket.

The Cats of Parliament Hill Blog.

This is the blog kept by the volunteers who care for the feral cat colony on Parliament Hill. It is really very interesting, and includes lots of photos of the cats, the hill, and some of the care givers!
