Craig Street Cats booth at Pawsitively Wild

Craig Street Cats booth at Pawsitively Wild

Well, Pawsitively Wild has come and gone. It was a wild day, to be sure. Many thanks to Tony Braccio of Crystal Sound and Barry at Paws on Portage for their generous contributions to our prize baskets. The Toonie Trek raffle helped raise quite a few dollars for the cats.

Barry actually came along to help out at the booth, and he spent most of the day drawing people in to have a look. Thanks, Barry!

Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to escape the camera, so here’s me at the booth:

All told, it was quite a day. Lots of people dropped by to learn about feral cats, and we raised some money to help take care of them. Win, win. ;)

Pawsitively Wild

Tuesday, September 9th, 2008

This is a hectic, exciting week. I’m busily getting ready for the Pawsitively Wild pet show coming up on the 14th. Craig Street Cats has a booth there, and I’m looking forward to doing a little fundraising, as well as community outreach and education. I certainly hope that many of you will be there, and drop by the booth to say hello.

While you’re there, pick up a “Toonie Trek” form, and go on a mini-scavenger hunt to discover facts about feral cats, then enter a draw for an amazing gift basket. Once that’s all taken care of, be sure to pick up a package of our new “Kitten Cards”. I managed to get some amazing photos of the kittens this summer, and these have evolved into a set of adorable greeting / note cards. They’ll be available at the show. Any that are left will be available through this website, starting next week.

Harry Finds a Forever Home

Thursday, September 4th, 2008

Today is rather bitter-sweet. Our lovely Harry was adopted yesterday, and, while I’m very happy that he has gone to a wonderful home, I miss him terribly. Boots and Kahlua seem to be missing him too. Harry and Boots were constant companions while Harry was here, and Kahlua (she’s the resident dog) believes that she is mother to all of the cats and kittens.

It seems strange to go into my bathroom and not be greeted by Harry scrambling out of the kitten condo and into my arms. I’m sure he will have lots of lovely hidey holes in his new home, and that his new mom, Dana, will make certain Harry is well taken care of.

Many thanks to Barry at Paws on Portage for helping to find Harry his forever home.
