15 minutes of fame
Monday, June 9th, 2008I’m overwhelmed. On Saturday, the Winnipeg Free Press ran an article about Craig Street Cats. Since then, Winnipeggers have proven just how generous they can be. From food, to litter, to toys and supplies, to cash and job offers, to volunteers, I have been inundated with kindness. The site has also acquired a new advertiser. Please check out the Pawsitively Wild website — the show promises to be a great, pet friendly event.
I am pleased to report that there is now enough dry food and cat litter on hand to last through the end of July. The toys, supplies, blankets and towels donated should last quite a bit longer. Several small and medium sized cat crates were donated, along with litter boxes and assorted paraphenelia.
The cash that came in will be used to help with costs associated with the project: spay/neuter fees, canned food, feeding stations, another trap, a large enclosure / crate for cats to recover from surgery, kitten fostering, winter shelters . . . . No, the cash donations to date will not cover everything on the list, but they will help me keep going.
The people who have volunteered their time and skills are special. I hope to be able to introduce them to you in the near future.
Thank you to everyone who has contacted me regarding the article. Your support means a great deal to me, and to the cats.
